takes klonopin - was taking .50 twice a day for quite a while and

then we decreased it to .50 in the am and .25 (split the tablet) in the p.m.

only weighs 53 lbs and it doesn't take much of any increase in meds

to affect her body - usually negative.

Also, if has just started the med. it might take a little while to

for her body to adjust to it. A couple of ideas (with dr. approval) is if

they would decrease her dose that she takes am and take the larger dose (.50)

pm. So she is sleeping through the peak time. Also, make sure she takes it at

the same time each day - as best as she can. At night, I have found with

that I need to give it to her no later than about 7:00 - 8:00 at the

latest.

Finally, klonopin just may not be a good med for . Hopefully the

doctor will be willing to adjust dosage's or try something else. Klonopin is

not only good for anxiety type issues but is also good for pain management.

Hope this helps.

Maybe a better

alternative temporarily but be careful as it is addictive. These are the hard

decisions, choosing between 2 not so great options. It maybe best to use

temporarily while you work through unwanted behaviors. I just suggest you use

it sparingly and briefly. Good luck.

Any comments? In order to cut down on

aggressive behavior, Noah's been given Klonopin twice a day. Better

than restraint, I guess

All I can tell you is it worked good for me when I had some anxiety issues. I

also have a cousin who has been taking it for 20 years or so to sleep at night

(not intended use). I took it 2 to 3 times a day for a month or more with no

addiction problems. My cousin has no adverse reaction from long term use.

Just be careful--it is addictive, and SHOULD NOT BE STOPPED SUDDENLY

after long term use. It must be weaned off or you risk seizure on

sudden withdrawl.
