Guest guest
Hi, everyone. I don't know if you remember, but my mom gathered more info. on the son (27 yr. old RSS) of an old high school friend she recently became in contact with. She spoke with his mother last night and here is what my mom learned: 1. He was born full-term weighing 2.13 pounds (forgot to ask how long). 2. Potty trained at 2 yrs. old (I know, that has nothing to do with RSS, but was still discussed). 3. He always ate well. 4. In Kindergarten, he wore a size 3T 5. At 5 yrs. old, removed some permanent teeth because of over-crowding. His permanent teeth also appeared large in childhood years, but eventually grew " into " his teeth and now look normal size. 6. In 6th grade, he was 43 pounds. 7. Started 10th grade weighing 70 pounds. 8. Now wears a man's size 5 shoe, a 29 x 29 pant, and a man's small shirt. 9. He is now 27 years old, weighs 103 lbs. and is 5'3 " tall without any intervention. These were things my mom jotted down during their conversation. Mom said that the parents are VERY excited about this list and is looking into joining. They are also going to talk to their son about joining the list to " help " us through these tough years and maybe offer some advice, comments, suggestions and/or input. The parents are going to send my mom a picture of him so we are going to ask permission from them to post it on the RSS list. His parents say he is very outgoing and it was suggested he should have became a counselor due to his concern for others and ability to talk/understand those that are having trouble (he's a high school P.E. teacher). Well, that's all I have for now. I'm so GRATEFUL for my mom finding her " old " (not in age! ha. ha.) high school friend. What a " small " (no pun intended) World to find an old high school friend that has a son with RSS!!! I'll keep you posted or pass on any new info. on this adult RSS man as I learn anything. Take care! Stacie Mommy to daughter - (6 yrs.) and son - (2 1/2 yrs.) with RSS, g-tube, assemytry (19.13 lbs. & 31 in.)
