Guest guest
You know this happens a lot...I say lets stop and/or forwarding virus warnings to the list...I'm not saying they're not out there and all, but everyone should have a virus protection program. Since I've been on this list for over 2 years...I can't remember a single time a virus alert has EVER been legitimate. I've never had a virus (knock on wood) and have been on the internet for 6 years now. just my 0.2 Val
Guest guest
Good point Val, same here with one exception. I installed Norton Firewall and it kept going off with attempts on a port. I got the bright idea to trace the DNS number, and ended up at a " trapped " website. Learned right then and there how to change my settings and not accept forced downloads. Norton caught it right away, luckily. But I've been online for 11 years and never gotten a virus or other outside problem. We won't discuss the nightmare of software upgrades though, LOL. Basic rules, don't open attachments if you don't know the sender and you're not expecting anything. Graphics are usually clean but be careful of any executables or compressed files. That's kept me safe all this time. <G> J
Guest guest
You are lucky. I do have virus detection software programs (yes, multiple) and just recently got the kakworm program thing. That was more troublesome than really dangerous, but time consuming nonetheless. I don't understand viruses very well and appreciate all the help I can get. Just my 2 cents, as they say.
