Guest guest
There are lots of different guidelines for adopting, depending widely upon the agency (or lack of agency) through which you work. Don't ever let finances be the only thing that holds you back from pursuing adoption, though... the cost of adoption varies as widely as agency guidelines do. If you're really serious about adopting a child from China, there are innumerable agencies who work with China... I recommend you work with one of the larger, more established agencies like Dillon or Holt or CHSM. We adopted our daughter Alice through Holt (their website is http://www.holtintl.org), which is the international adoption agency which has been in existence the longest. The larger and older an agency, the more resources it's likely to have and the more flexibility they have with financing. -Kris wife2eerik@... wrote: > In a message dated 11/27/2000 7:14:07 PM Eastern Standard Time, > rwood8587@... writes: > > << i am still wanting to adopt even with one of my own > > now and my husband thinks i am nuts. i just feel there is some little > child > > out there that needs me as his or her mommy. >> > > my husband is afraid he wont love the child or see it as his own. also, what > can you all tell me about financial guidelines, how to adopt, etc... im also > interested. my dh thinks im nuts but i always wanted a little chinese baby > girl......but it doesnt have to be! > > teresa > > > Children are a reward from the Lord. > Psalm 127:

Guest guest
i dont know about the guidlines. that was a few years ago. they told us that we had to totally give up on the idea of having bio kids and go through a mourning process. now i know he must have been blowing smoke. he wasnt really ready to do that so the papers just sat. we were just thinking about digging them out just before i had surgery but then i wanted to heal first...well, thats the end of that story. did you see the story in the last good houskeeping about chinese adoption. it was beautiful. julie p.s. we tried going through catholic charities. next time we will try the state or luth social services.
