I was wondering if anyone has or had a dog with diabetes

and what clues did you have?

My mutt baby, Val has lost 12 pounds in two months and has

a lousy appitite now. SHe is all boney. My ex had her and I just

got her back the other day. She is at the vet for the day today

for lab work and hydration. She is 7.5 years old and the runt.

Thanks for your input.

I've heard that dogs can get diabetes, but I don't think I've ever known

any.

I'm sure the vet will give the canine equivalent of the A1c.

I got my dog Val back today from the vet and she was diagnosed

with a liver infection. She gained 1.5 pounds overnight with the

hydration therapy, two penicillin injections, B Complex injection and

ate well. She is improving already. I just thought you folks might

want to know the outcome of my dog.....and no diabetes or kidney

malfunctions!
