Guest guest
Subject: Social Security: VE of MD at your hearing? What I am wondering is whether anyone out there who has not been conversing with me via e-mail already, has had a SS hearing. If so, at your hearing did they have a Vocational Expert [VE] and/or an MD there? If they did, do you recall if you were notified beforehand of their attendence? Thanks in advance, Steve C Middletown, NJ ACM 5-6 mm - not lecting for surgery now. Hi Steve, I had my SS hearing on11/2/00 in south Florida. My lawyer had obtained a disposition from my neurologist and a statement from my psychiatrist prior to the hearing. That way the doctors did not have to attend the hearing. The hearing went quickly with no questions asked. The judge liked the statement from my psych dr., because she included a GAF (Global Assessment of Functioning) score. This gives a measurement of a person's ability to function which makes it easier for the judge to see the level of disability.
