your post really hit home about the cashier at the store giving

you dirty looks. I had my RNY 4/19/99 and my neighbors sall me all

during the summer I was losing weight but did'nt look that

drastically different until the following spring. Most of the

neighbors hadn't seen me during the winter. As in my neighborhood

everybody sees each other out working in thier yard etc.. in the nice

weather. This spring my next door neighbor came over to help my

husband with a project he was working on and he didn't know who I

was. We have been living next dooe to these people for 6 years. He

thought that my husband had divorced me and had another woman living

with him, and was rasing my children! I about fell over. He even

admitted that he had told his wife " I think next door divorced

Mindy and has a new girlfriend living with him " . I first I was

getting irratated that I would wave to my neighbors as I was pulling

out of my driveway and they would'nt wave back until I realized they

didn't know who I was. My most amazed moment was when my own mother

didn't know how I was. My mom and dad spend their winters in Florida

away from the cold winters here in Ohio. When she came home this

spring I suggested that we get together for dinner at my favorite

Italian resturant to celebrate her birthday. I had even told here

that I looked really different and had changed my hair style and now

had blonde highlights in my hair. When me and my husband got to the

resturant they had already seated my mom and dad. I went up to her

and pulled her to me to give her a hug and a kiss, she pulled away

from me and looked like she was going to hit me! I said mom! She

went Mindy? She said that she didn't realize who I was until she saw

my husband standing three next to me. At first I was really

hurt that my own mother didn't realize who I was. But she said I

don't realize how different I look. I look back on it now and realize

that she is right. I not only look different I act different. I am a

whole new person. I have a better attitude and a greater zest for

life that I never had before.Wish all grads the best.

I had a similar incident when I was losing I did not go out and buy

any new clothes I just wore them baggy and I mean baggy. until one

day at owrk my shorts fell down to my ankles and I had to take a

rubberband and tie them up in the front. I went and bought some

clothes then. I had jumped from a size 36W to a 22. when I started

wearing clothes that fit a young man staying with the lady next

door asked my husband if he could take me out to dinner. He

basically said maybe you your wife and her sister and I could go

out one night and Dan tried to figure out who my sister was then it

even dawned on him and that was funny.

Now in 34 hours and 20 minutes 44 seconds but whose counting, I will

seeing my family who has not seen me in over 4 years and only my

parents have seen me since I lost weight I am dying to find out if

they will recongnize me when I get off that plane.
