hello everyone, this is my first post. I have a 15 year old son who

is in alot of pain right now. He has been diagnosed by his doctor

with PTS, MDD Axis I, OCD. His behaviour is getting worse each

week. We were advised by social worker to get the book " Stop Walking

On Eggshells " I cried when I started reading the book. This is my

son and this has been our life. I couldn't get anyone to really

believe me, my son presents as a very smart, charming, sweet child.

At home his moods change hourly. He can hold it together for one

hour with his doctor, but comes home and causes havoc. He is the

eldest of 5 children and the stress is becoming too much for all of

us. His doctor is very reluctant to consider BPD. His treatment has

been to relieve our son of any stress and empower him. Well now my

son has dropped out of everything, including school and feels he can

run his own life. We are getting grief from the social workers now

involved telling us that he needs expectations put on him. All we

did was follow his doctors advise and I feel now we have created an

impossible situation. Finally in the last week he has not been able

to control his anger in front of the doctor, but his doctor continues

to let him run the show. We the parents are always the enemy. The

doctor is the person he runs to and hides behind. I need a fresh

look at my son and have found a doctor who is willing to help and

understands our position. I could talk about this for hours but it

is very draining and my younger children need me. I am considering

trying to find residential treatment for my son, in Canada would be

best but I would go anywhere. We love our son, and it is very hard

to watch him suffer. Our other children and starting to show the

effects of the stress of their brothers illness. Any advice would be

greatly appreciated.
