Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I just recieved my second opinion from Dr. Frim through sending my MRI results to him. But first I will tell you what the first said. My first opinion was with Dr. Heffez, I sent them to him back in Feb. 2000. When he called he said I had mild ACM 1 , with other major neck problems, and also believed alot of my sx were FM related. I have been dx with FM for 6 yrs or more now, and I have had flare ups in the past generally lasting 1-2 months, but nothing to explain the way I have been the past yr and a half. I was able to get a referral from my PCP to a NSG in the area, only resulting in a slap in the face, saying my MRI's were normal , and a boot out the door. I am also having difficulties with my Ins. in getting a refferal out of my area also. So I deided before I fight harder I would get another expert opinion first, so here it is . When I contacted Dr. Frim he said , that the opinions of himself and Dr. Frim, sometimes differ , but he would be happy to look at them , and this is what he said. Upon looking at your MRI scan I cannot find evidene for compression at the level of the foramen magne. There is some evidence for a cervical stenosis, and reversal of the normal cervical lordosis in your neck , but I'm not sure I can relate that to your many symptoms. You may in fact have the fibromyalgia syndrome, or some other collegen vascular diease. Dr. Frim also said that he would be happy to refer me to one of the neurologist or rheumatologists for addithional evaluation. I was hoping to get some insight from any of you , that might have some great links on cervical lordosis or collegen vascular disease, I would greatly appreciate it . Having his opinion now, I will be taking this info to my PCP to try to get a referral again, but I want to be PREPARED to the fullest. Thanks in Advance.. Hugs to you all, Dawn 34/F Michigan sx since childhood FM/CFS dx 1994 Mild ACM 1 dx 3/00 no surgery
