Guest guest
My son had surgery on the 3rd of Jan. They now have him going to Physical Therapy twice a week. They are having to take it slow with him tho because for some reason his blood pressure is going up. Is this normal after this kind of surgery? The primary doctor looked back in her records to see what it was like before surgery and it was fine. I thought maybe just the pain he is in might be making it go high. He says the neck hurts and feels like the headache is still there but i think he is having trouble distinishing whether it is the actual headache he started with or not. Since he seems to be in so much pain still daily the therapist has us go see the doctor and request a Tens machine. Is anyone familiar with those and does it help. My son so far will be out of school til the end of Mar and she said she will evaulate him then. So now the truant office wont leave us alone. It got so bad that I went and withdrew him today and told them that i would home school him. So needless to say they were not happy. He has a doctors excuse and i just dont understand that one. Thanks in advance for your input.

Guest guest
Yes I would like to know as the meds are not an option for me, have been there and done that and cannot take them. helen Re: Question I can get more info for you if you are interested, ie what dose the fish oil capsules are, and how much his #'s came down, but he is thrilled to be able to avoid prescription medication. The only thing I know is that they buy the fish oil in a huge supply from Costco or Sam's club, although I have seen them in drug stores like Walgreen's in the vitamin/supplement aisle. gail
Guest guest
True I pretty much eat what I want but sensiable and in small quanities. Do not eat white bread or sugar and do try to stick to low carb. Judge what I can eat by my BG's Helen Re: Re: Question In regard to low-fat items, it is best to compare labels. Often low-fat items are " beefed up " with additional carbs to make them taste better. (It never works anyway, so I don't see the point, LOL!) Guest guest
I read that fish oil may elevate BG levels in some. I switched to Evening Primrose Oil. > Yes I would like to know as the meds are not an option for me, have been there and done that and cannot take them. helen > Re: Question > > > I can get more info for you if you > are interested, ie what dose the fish oil capsules are, and how much > his #'s came down, but he is thrilled to be able to avoid > prescription medication. Guest guest
> I read that fish oil may elevate BG levels in some. > I switched to Evening Primrose Oil. > That's interesting Ollie, my father is controlled by D & E alone, so I guess the fish oil did not affect his BG in a negative way. So trial and error, just like with food, is a must. The Evening Primrose Oil sounds interesting (and exotic!!) and I am curious to see if he has ever heard of it. My doctor (interal medicine) has no patience for non prescription supplements (garbage! garbage! he says, whenever I question him) so it is interesting to learn about them from fellow diabetics, gail
Guest guest
That is true. Skim milk has more carbs than whole milk, and whole milk more than half-and-half; cream has almost none. Re: Question I just wanted to post that many dairy products, like skim milk, are considered carbohydrates. I'm in no way telling you not to consume them, I just noted you were talking low-carb products and thought you might not be aware of the dairy/carb issues. Guest guest
There are so many, I'm not sure where to begin. Also, different kinds are available in different parts of the country. For the California wines, try Sutters Home and Turning Leaf. For Australians, try Lindeman's, Penfold, and Black Swan. Avia is from Slovenia, Premiat from Romania, and Duna is from Hungary. There are good wines from South Africa and Chile as well. Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, and Zinfandel are all good choices. Re: Question OK Bruce tell be a great brand of red wine and I'll try it!!!!!!! Helen RE: Question I've always heard 'red'. I don't know about blush as I can't stand IT. Guest guest
Yes, I have a script for it. I take it once in a while. I think it probably does help with the stiffness some. But if I took it 2 or three times a day, I think it would make me groggy. Maybe not. But hey, i think it helps. I take at least one a day and usually it is at night. Take it sweety, it can't hurt ya to try. agape debra weachy_01 wrote: > > I was wondering if anyone else is taking flexeril? My doctor has me > on it. I take it at night before bed.
