Get results in 20 seconds and needs very small blood sample. Machine hold 450 readings in memory. It also is plasma calibrated not whole blood calibrated. I like the monitor especially that it's very compact. > > Re: finger testing - pads vs. sides (was Arm vs. > Fingertesting) > > > It doesn't really matter where I prick...finger pad or side....it hurts > either way. Guest guest
I was using the One Touch Basic and have now bought a FreeStyle Flash, the new tiny one that uses only a pin point of blood. I love it. sheri.morphis@... wrote: > What kind of monitors are being used by the group? I am using a Lifescan > Ultra that uses little blood and tests within 5 seconds. Guest guest
I use the accucheck compac, it is downloadable in my endo's offfice. THis way she sees how much of a bad boy i have been. I also have the one touch ultra, but since I need the accu check to take to my endo office, I dont use that one anymore. In the past I have used others, like the lifescan one touch profile and accu check advantage. The one i Use now, the accu check compac works real well and does nto need a whole pint of your blood to work. haha sheri.morphis@... wrote: What kind of monitors are being used by the group? I am using a Lifescan Ultra that uses little blood and tests within 5 seconds. Anything better out there? Any advice on how one brand is better than another brand? The one thing I see with the Ultra I'm using is it can give me a reading up to 20 pts higher than the other monitor I was using, a Lifescan Basic. That's an awful lot of deviation I think. I know my doctor told me to pick a monitor and stick with it and just go by what it reads and not to use 2 different ones. Sheri Re: finger testing - pads vs. sides (was Arm vs. Fingertesting) It doesn't really matter where I prick...finger pad or side....it hurts either way. But it hurts more on the pad of the finger. Guest guest
Hi Sheri -- I used to use the Ascescia Breeze monitor, but recently changed over to the TrueTrack Smart System. The Breeze is very easy, but gives results in what I consider a very long time: 30 seconds, where the TrueTrack gives them in ten seconds. The TT is also a lot smaller, and takes 2/3 less blood (a tiny sample) than the Breeze. Fits in my purse a lot better, as it's thinner and more compact. The meter costs a lot less, too, and so do the strips if you're buying them out-of-pocket. But my insurance company has the same co- pay for both brands of strips, so no real savings for me. I'm really happy with the TT. Type 2 diet and exercise
