Guest guest
Kat I am one who also found that writing down what I would eat did not work. But, writing down what I DO eat does help, though I might overeat anyway, I have to ACCOUNT for it by putting it all down. I want neat numbers. Then, I have to have neat food lists. I tried writing down everything that I did eat once too, and I was in shock and didn't want to do it anymore. I could actually see it on paper and it wasn't a pretty sight. It's easy to shove something in your mouth and then forget about it. I will try to do this again and see if it helps. When I was following Dr Phil's plan you were also suppose to write down your feelings when you ate something. If you were happy, sad, stressed, etc. Well, I did that too but then I didn't know what to do with the information. I went yeah I was happy when I ate that and yeah I was stressed when I ate that... yeah I ate when I wasn't hungry. It didn't help. I think the bottom line here is accountability. I will give it a try. Kat
Guest guest
My husband is a type 2.... and needs to lose weight.... but it seems like all he wants to do is eat....and to get him to excerise is almost impossible ..The Dr. had him on Meridan (the diet pill) and that didn't even curve his appetite....he was suppose to go back to the Dr. last month and kept putting it off....he didn't go this month either, because he didn't lose any weight at all....what would be a good avenue to take to try and make him lose the weight...(food wise, how many carbs should he be eating) and things like that...I move the tread mill into the TV room hoping that he would get on it....he hasn't as of yet...and I can't go out and walk with him (which the Dr. has told him to do) since I have polio and can't walk very far at all.....can any of you guys give me any ideas??? I want to be able to enjoy our retirement when he gets their in about 5 years.. and he knows what diabetics can do his Dad had it and lost his eyesight with it.... Sorry about being so long.. Guest guest
Alas, he has to want to do it. All I can suggest is to keep encouraging him--without nagging! Perhaps showing him pictures of or stories about people who neglected their diabetes and died at an early age and sayin, " Honey, I don't want to be a widow! " Re: Re: Exercise and motivation My husband is a type 2.... and needs to lose weight.... but it seems like all he wants to do is eat....and to get him to excerise is almost impossible
Guest guest
Perhaps every time you see a thin, handsome man you can say, " Hmm. Perhaps after you've eaten your way into an early grave, he can be my Mr. No. 2. " RE: Re: Exercise and motivation I said flippantly " Oh, don't worry, I'll have your pension...I'll go be a rich widow on Santorini! " [One of those gorgeous Greek islands] It seemed to pick him up & turn him around.
