Guest guest
Hi mike in uk here, nothing is happening my end to help me, I have a question for the group. I have had 4 emails from 4 top chiar USA drs over last 15 months, all saying after they have read copys of my 1996 ct scan, my 1998 mri, and now my csf flow study that I sould try to see a new nsc asap, and to come over to either of them for an evaluation, this is great, but (1) I have no money for flight or evaluation ( 2 ) even if I can get cash to come over which I know I cant, I think the flight could really do a lot of damage to my brain. MY ct scan of 1996 said my ventricals were enlarged, my mri of 1998 said they were now normal size , which means that they are getting big an small for some reason, and no the mri of 1998 diagnosed chiari because of my tonsils being below my foreman magnum, my csf flow on report said that theres hardlt any flow in my aquduct of silvius, and that my 4th ventrical had no flow and infact was practically invisable on brain scan. When the weather is bad and theres low pressure, my head feels like its going to exspold and my eyes feel like they are bulging out of my head in severe pain, has is the same with my ears, my heart rate gos up, and I feel like im going to pass out, this happens when I go up a high hill , also doing any thing that makes my heart rate go up, its clear that I am getting hydrocapulas when ever theres a out sidee pressure drop or increase. my question if, and its a big if, I could raise enough to fly over from uk and pay for an evaluation will the flight kill me, because theres a lot of pressure involved in flying need to know thanks guys mike in uk. Guest guest
Hi Mike - guess what, I live in London and I have just had a decompression job done over here. My surgeon's name is Bullock and if you need, to he also practices under the NHS!! in King's College hospital. He really is an amazing talented medic and sits down with you and listens. Also he encourages questions!!!! If you want you can email me direct. There is no need to put youself through the flight! I really understand about the pressre in your head, ironically I had that after my op but it did pass. Incidentally, it is 7 weeks since my op and I feel better than I have in years!!!!!!! Get yourself a referal to him. Privately he is in the Harley Street Clinic in London. He really is good, my neurologist said that he was one of the best in the world for SM/chiari. Let me knw how you get on!
