What about getting your own insurance people involved. Could they call the others and explain what's going on? You shouldn't sign any forms at all releasing the other insurance company until you're completely satisfied that you won't have any further complications from the injury. You should also explain to the doctors and hospital, that if you could you would pay them, but since you are the victim in the accident, that the insurance company is the one they should be contacting.] Maybe I'm misreading this whole thing, I'm not sure, but I do know you shouldn't settle any insurance claims until you're completely back to normal, whatever that may be for you. As for the memory foam, I think this would be a very helpful thing for you to have, especially the cervical pillow that Anjil mentioned. I don't think that would be too expensive, and even if you had to pay for that yourself, if it were me, I would invest in one! That's just my 2 cents worth, hope it helps in some way. This is ridiculous, or can you get the press on your side and expose some of the details - embarrassment can do wonders for red tape...
