Guest guest
All -- Yesterday, I experienced something that was very frustrating. I don't know if this is related to the Chiari or not but I'd like your opinions, if possible. . . . . Yesterday morning, I ate half of a banana so I could take my pills. I always try to eat something so my stomach doesn't get upset. Well, I only took 2 pills ( I normally take 4 in the morning). They seemed to go down ok but then shortly after, I started to experience an incredible burning sensation in my throat leading down to my esophagus. Also, I had a feeling in my throat that something was caught and no matter how much I drank it didn't want to go down. Then, I ate lunch. Big mistake!! I felt even worse the remainder of the day. I felt as if the food I ate was just stuck in my throat and felt like it wanted to come back up at times. Thinking that this might be indigestion or heartburn, I took Pepto and Tums but nothing would help. I also still had the burning sensation in my throat and chest. Then when I laid down to go to sleep last night, it was worse. Today, it's a little better but I still have the burning and it was a little challenge taking my pills this morning. Also, I've been experiencing some pains in my chest. I've had this " caught " feeling before in my throat after eating but not that often and it hasn't been until recently that I've experienced the incredible burning feeling. I'm wondering whether this is what some of you feel with your " swallowing problems " which is related to the Chiari? I don't really have a problem swallowing initially, it's after it " supposedly " goes down that I have all the problems. I've never been one to have problems with indigestion or heartburn, so I'm not sure what this stuff feels like exactly. Maybe it's just bad indigestion or heartburn. This will probably go away soon but I'm just trying to pinpoint the cause so I know what it is when it occurs again. Oh boy, time for lunch again!! I'm interested in all of your opinions.
