Sometimes, I will put a small amount of pork rinds on the counter, then when I think I've got to have something to eat, I'll grab one or two of them. I do limit myself to the amount of those that I eat. Sometimes, I'll have cut up veggies setting on the counter and grab one as I walk by. The winter is the hardest for me since I'm inside more. Now that spring in almost here, I'll be outside and not thinking about food as often. hugs Eunice

Thanks for the reminder Eunice, that I do have a choice. I do have hot tea- I bought mixed berry and apple cinnamon green tea, which are very fragrant and nice tasting, and they do help to stiffle my urges to " stuff my face. " Fear (of complications) is a motivator for changing your behavior, but I was hoping that after time, eating heathy would come more naturally. The more healthy way has become habit I guess, but the old " desires " (for a lack of a better word) have not disappeared, as I had hoped. Oh well!! thanks for the advise, gail
Guest guest
I am new to the list. I am type 2 diabetic. When I get hungry for those chips and cookies (which I love), I usually end up eating some sugar-free jello with whipped cream (no carbs) It does sometime help the craving for sweets. Guest guest
I understand the benefits of eating healthy, and of making substitutions. I do. But when what I crave is a bag of chips, or a donut, or a piece of chocolate cake with ice cream, a cup of raspberry tea is NOT going to satisfy the craving. It may help me not to eat the craved item, but it is not a substitute. Like those recipes that have you substitute yogurt (yuck!) for crream in cooking. Oh, for a nice healthy Shmoo... Guest guest
Hi Deb, I am from Bolivar, a small town about 15 Miles from Canton, O. Pudding pops sound good. I think I am a potato chip, peanut butter and spaghetti-a-holic. It is like lays potato chips, " You can't just eat one " They do have a low carb peanut butter. Carb Solutions 3 carbs per 2 tbls Tastes pretty good on celery if you want a crunchy snack. Argie Type 2 Ohio
