Guest guest
Hi : I am still pre-op, so I can't tell you about the dumping vs staying down, but I can tell you that the hormonal changes of pregnancy make for some very strange food situations. For the first six months of my pregnancy, the only things that would stay down were - and yes, I know it is VERY weird - White Things. Mozzarella cheese, rice pudding, wonder bread, milk, mashed potatoes, plain chicken breast, cream of mushroom soup, etc. If I went into any color at all - even like beige, up it came. Most of this stuff I NEVER ate before I got pregnant and I don't really eat now. My midwives said - hey, go with the flow, obviously, for some reason, these are the things your body craves. If you can make good choices most of the time, those few not so good choices won't do any harm. Just my experience. I would suggest that when you are hungry, really think about what it is that you want to eat. Bring up a taste in your mouth and everything. Try that item and see if it stays down. Also, I know that at some stages of fetal development, fat, our arch enemy, is very important, especially for proper development of the brain and nervous system. Maybe your baby is at this stage and is telling you in a not so subtle way Good luck finding a middle ground! Love and Light, Sara

Guest guest
hi. i have not been able to handle sugar too good either but lately i have had it bad for chocolate. i know i can only eat very little ubt enough to satisfy me. i am not generally a sugar craver. i blame pms. the problem is, this month i dont have that excuse. i just found out today that i am pregnant. what a shock. well, i will write more when it sinks in. its a great story i will never, ever forget. julie Panic questions! Help! I am confused. Before I got pregnant, I was a BIG dumper. Meaning the two times I inadvertently got sugar I became sick as a dog and felt like crawling into a corner and passing out. Well with morning sickness I feel that way all the time -- mine isn't morning sickness. It is whatever time of day. This past week EVERYTHING has been making me sick. Everything that is except pizza and potato chips. There is health food for you. The bad news though -- since I have been getting sick anyway and keeping very little down (except the forementioned pizza and chips) , I gave into my cravings and had a creme filled donut. The first time it was only two bites. I didn't dump. The second time was about six hours later -- I had half a donut. No dumping. Then I tempted fate and had a whole donut. I didn't dump and it stayed down. The protein I tried to consume over the last few days -- turkey, hamburger, chicken -- all came back up almost immediately. But sugar -- which I had not had since my surgery (except twice inadvertently) has stayed down and even calmed my tummy. PLEASE EXPLAIN! This is the oddest thing in the world. I feel horrid for even suggesting this but since my nausea isn't letting anything stay down what does stay I have been eating. Including donuts! Arrrggghhh. Anyone have this happen? Guest guest
Thanks Sara for your input. This is just really weird. Again sugar stays down, starches stay down and protein comes back up.. Arrrggghhh.. how irritating. I gotta relearn to eat again! Rasley mailto:drasley@...
