Thanks Stefan. I had heard that (and experienced it several

times)...still it is hard not to be discouraged. I spent 10 months

exercising 5 x per week for 40 mins and carefully watching what I ate

in the first year of my diagnosis. I lost no weight at all, I gained

the usual 5 lbs at the beginning and lost about 4 lbs, but then

stayed where I was.

I didn't eat so little that my body would have assumed I was starving

it or anything, and I didn't loose mucch in the way of inches either.

After a year, I gave up because I was so disappointed at the lack of

change. I went through a bad patch for a while and then joined this

group. It is time for me to start trying to loose weight again, but

it is so tough without the positive reinforcement of seeing the

scales go down. I know I am healthier and it is easier to keep my BGs

in a lower range when I exercise, but I sure would like to loose

weight :)
