Joe, Thanks so much for going into detail about an IEP. I knew someone out

there would be able to tell what an IEP is. With Ian's transportation, they are

actually going to fill out a form for us all to sign and keep on file although

it's not an IEP, to review yearly and this will help us from having to go thru

this all over again. Ian doesn't require OT, PT or anything else for RSS

anymore, but I am a bit concerned once he does start first grade in the fall. I

know I have read other moms saying they were more worried than their kids were,

the kids just seem to adjust, but I would much rather sit down with the

principal and counselor to discuss issues which will affect Ian and his

performance in school. It may end up that we actually end up with an IEP for

him, I don't know yet. I am not sure exactly how everything will go for him,

but you're right, that may be the best thing to do since it will be in writing

and that I know issues will be reviewed yearly.. I guess I'll cross that bridge

when I get to it in the spring. Thanks for putting that thought out there for

the parents of almost school age children, it is nice to know you do have those

options open to you.Missymom to Ian-5 yrs old
