Guest guest
~If I were not 30-something pounds from my goal weight, I probably wouldn't be " going for it " now. I KNOW I can lose the weight after the baby....I've done it before. So, I'm not worried at all. And I dont expect to gain as much this time as I did before. And I wouldn't even be here if it weren't for my RNY. My cycles were so screwy...there would have been no way I could get PG back at my pre-RNY weight. So, have you tested yet? At 10 days late you should be able to use a home pregnancy test. Thanks for the congrats and I will keep you all posted! I am so obsessed with getting PG now! Congrats to you, too, on your loss! Let us know when/if you find out about being pg! Lee Ann Anyway, I know what you mean about wanting a baby. I do but I still want to not have one and lose. Its a toss up. Just being late this month makes me go nuts......Im 10 days late now but dont know if I am or not. My periods were like yours........here and there. So who knows. Keep us posted and congrats on the weight loss. I started at 367 and Im now 277, have a longgggggggggg way to go to get under 145.
Guest guest
The charts really are BS. After my first WLS, I lost down to 155lbs and that was a great weight for me...even though I didn't think so at the time...lol! Congrats on your 120lb loss....that is great! I know you'll pick up losing where you left off after your baby is born. How have the doc's been managing you.....regarding your not gaining much? Have you had a NST and ultrasounds to see if baby is ok? Sorry to be nosy, but I'm curious. Lee Ann welcome. i know what you mean by picking your own goal. those charts they use are bull!!! they show my husband being obese and he by no means is since he weighs less than 190 lbs and is just about 6 foot. i would kill to weigh that much....or little maybe. i had surgery aug 11th and have lost about 120 lbs. i am now 36 weeks and counting but not much longer. hope i dont get struck by lightening or anything but i started out at 375 as my highest....i have never admitted that to anyone...and now am below 250 and maybe in a way fighting to stay under. i have gained about 4 1/2 lb with this pregnancy and now have lost a little because of dental problems. cant wait to start losing again. if i dont have this baby by aug 14, they will induce me since as the dr said even babies can outstay there welcome. i havent been gaining anything in over the past month so i think that has them concerned too but will see. good luck to you and stick around. we do have fun here. julie
Guest guest
What test have you been using? There are some really super sensitive tests out now. The " Confirm " test is one...and its cheap....go figure! I saw them at Target. If you go to the website below, it lists test in order of most sensitive. http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hpt.html Hope this helps, and if you already know all this...sorry! Lee Ann Yes, 3 times......still negative. I am one that needs to be over 2 wks late for it to go positive. I guess I dont have enough of the hormone to show up. Guest guest
So true! Its still so early for me, I haven't stressed yet. I hope it stays that way or I get PG before I have a chance to stress! Lee Ann be careful that you dont get stressed out trying. that can cause your cycles to go haywire too. julie
Guest guest
That is great that the baby is doing well! That is all that matters, after all. What a little stinker for not showing! I have no patience and would be dying of curiosity!!! In fact, I'll PAY for another US if we cant find out on the first one. Lee Ann i have weekly nst for now and the baby just isnt too cooperative so he must be active enough at least for the nurses. i also see a high risk and have us every 3 weeks. the babys heartrate and reactive heartrate are really good when he decides to wake up. the ultrasounds are right on. he weighs about 5 1/2 lbs at the last one which is great. dont really know that he is a he cuz he aint showing but you know, i have my idea and aint giving it up till he comes without a....well, you know what. mike is just as sure he wont have one : )

I'm Lee Ann, 34, married to DH for 6 years and we have a DS who is 5 and starting Kindergarten next month (my baby is growing up!). I had open RNY on 10/6/99. Started at 304lbs and now I'm 184-87lbs (give or take a few...must be water weight fluctuating). I'm happy with my loss so far, but *my* realistic goal is 152 (picked mostly because it is exactly HALF of my highest weight...I want to be able to say " I'm half the woman I used to be " ). According to charts I should be more like 135-140, but 152 would be heaven to me! Anyway, my DH and I decided months ago to start trying to get PG in October (making it 1 year since surgery....my surgeons minimum " waiting period " ). Well, in preparation of that I went off bcp's at the end of June and starting taking my temp in the mornings and charting (dont want to waste any time trying to get pg....I was ready for another baby years ago! But my weight had my cycles messed up and I would go months without a period and I dont think I was ovulating. Anyway....) so I could get a handle on my cycles and be ready come October. I did alot of reading about going off bcp's and how it can cause your cycles to be screwy the first few months, so I assumed I wouldn't ovulate this month. WRONG! I did! And DH and I were " careless " with protection (meaning we didn't use any...lol) the day before I ovulated! Silly me....I should not have *assumed* anything. But, I'm not pg...my period came Thursday night. Just the possibility of being PG has made me WANT to be pg now, regardless of my surgeon's recommendations. I dont think I will be messing up my further loss really. Its slowed down so much anyway that I know I can pick up at the rate of losing 3-8lbs a month (that I am at now) after the baby is born. So, we are scrapping the plans for October and going for it from now on....I'm so excited! So that is my story. Glad to be here....you all seem like a great bunch! There is actually more to my story (about WLS and being PG), but I will post that in a different email. Lee Ann Open RNY 10/6/99 Dr. Provost-Dallas, TX. Then 304lbs Now 184-87lbs Total lost: 117-120lbs!

Guest guest
thats ok, be nosey. the only thing i wont tell people is my weight and sex life...ha,ha,ha. at first the dr said that if i gained 5 lbs he would be happy but dont know if i will even make that. i have about 2 weeks left only. i know it will start again post baby especially the way i maintain now. thanks for the congrats too. we all deserve a big pat on the back!!! i have weekly nst for now and the baby just isnt too cooperative so he must be active enough at least for the nurses. i also see a high risk and have us every 3 weeks. the babys heartrate and reactive heartrate are really good when he decides to wake up. the ultrasounds are right on. he weighs about 5 1/2 lbs at the last one which is great. dont really know that he is a he cuz he aint showing but you know, i have my idea and aint giving it up till he comes without a....well, you know what. mike is just as sure he wont have one : ) julie p.s. anything under 200 sounds good to me for my goal weight....a few extra for lead way will be great though. Guest guest
at first i didnt really want to know. then i wanted to know but would have been alot happier if someone could have told me the day that he would be born because i just have to know stuff like this and like to have things planned. now last week i found out if i dont have this baby by aug 14, he will be here either on the 14 or 15th. since i know that, i dont care again what he is as long as we made it this far and he is healthy. what a trip this has been. julie Re: my intro That is great that the baby is doing well! Guest guest
That is so me, too. I'm a planner and want to know as much as possible so I can be ready. Although, I must say, I dont think I really would want to know when the baby is coming. As long as I get past 36 weeks with this next one, I'll be happy! Having DS early last time was really hard for me. Lee Ann at first i didnt really want to know. then i wanted to know but would have been alot happier if someone could have told me the day that he would be born because i just have to know stuff like this and like to have things planned. now last week i found out if i dont have this baby by aug 14, he will be here either on the 14 or 15th. since i know that, i dont care again what he is as long as we made it this far and he is healthy. what a trip this has been. Guest guest
, I am new to this group, actually I just joined yesterday. My husband and I have recently adopted a fifteen year old girl. I have been wanting so badly to talk with someone that has also adopted children. You are kidding when you say there are a whole lot of things in that area. My daugter is exhibiting bp traits and has OCD, PTSD, and depression. She is so sweet, but sometimes (often a real handful). We are committed to her for the long haul no matter what. No one in her whole fifteen years has ever been totally commited to her. But I am really struggling. One therapist after working with our daughter for a year has decided that tough love is the only thing that we can do right now and an old therapist of hers has told us that we are be on our daughters side and go easier on her. We tried that as the current therapist told the same thing until recently and it didn't work well. What to do????? It seems like there is almost no help out there. Especially in emergencies. Our daughter went off on us tonight and we had to call the police on her. We tried to get a doctor at her counseling center to see her on an emergency basis and finally got a hold of the on call therapist which happened to be her old therapist. The one mentioned above. I have been trying to get her doctor to see her to evaluate her meds but I can't even get her into see him. The nurse just gave me the run around. It is so frustrating. But I would love to chat with you on adoption issues as well as bp. --- In WTOParentsOfBPs , " peticolas2 <susan_lahti@c...> " <susan_lahti@c...> wrote: > I didn't say too much about myself cuz I didn't know exactly how > this worked.
