Guest guest
Remember Thanksgiving?? From that evening until a couple of hours ago, I have been very, very sick with food poisoning. We brought home already prepared doggie bags from a community Thanksgiving dinner. The bags must have been sitting out too long before they gave them to us ;-( I can't remember ever being this miserable. Operations, child birth, stitches, a car accident....nothing has compared to this. I ate mine for supper Thursday....and you know what happened. ate his Saturday night after we warned him they were probably poison. He had to learn the hard way. Within 2 hours he was aching, nauseous, had a fever and was having chills. He threw up a bunch of times and was better by the next day. No such luck for me. I had diarrhea for 5 days every few minutes, all night and all day long. I'm exhausted!! My doc wanted me to come to the hospital for IV fluids if it didn't stop ASAP. drove the 25 miles round trip to town for Pepto Bismol tabs. After taking 2 every hour for several hours, they seem to be working ;-) Until now, not a spec of food or water has stayed in me very long. The good news is that I ate a HUGE 8 oz candy bar, 2 mugs of hot chocolate and 2 bananas....and my bg only got to 92. I was trying desperately to get some sugar in me. I had already passed the point where any sensible person would have given up and gone to the ER. There's a skin pinch test for dehydration. My skin remained tented, with a crispy ridge for more than a minute ;-o My eyes are waaaaay sunken in. I've been drinking all along, but I think now it's going to stay in me more than a few minutes. For supper I had a whole box of pierogis and half a box of popcorn chicken. It's still in me and my bg never went over 92. This is a tough way to lower insulin resistance and be able to eat like a pig. I DO NOT recommend it! ;-) (wsm311@...)
