Yes, all the time. I am anemic though, and I think that if I eat too

much near bedtime (especially dairy -- I eat a little ice cream every

night too) it flares up worse because the anemia affects my liver and

spleen and fatty meals trigger it worse. I take Motrin or sometimes

Tums or whatever and have a bm and it gets better. Sometimes it

progresses into my back and lower abdomen and then the pain lasts

longer.

Here is the conundrum: I'm prescribed Trazodone to help me sleep.

Must take it before bed (11:00 pm). Must take it with food. Since we

work nights, we get home about 9:00 - 9:30 and that's when we eat

dinner. Boyfriend also has to take meds with food before bed. How to

take meds with food and not eat a meal before bed?! hmmmmmm.....

Hi K2,

I take calcium carbonate and it has to be taken with food also. Since

I am lactose intolerant I eat a small bite of muffin or a few

pretzels. Maybe you should eat a small amount soft carbs with your

Trazadone.

Hi Deb R,

Yes, please let me know the drug info. I have been seeing my great

gastro since 1988 and he has treated me for many things over the

years. He gave me Protonix, Cytotec, Reglan and a couple of as needed

meds.

Not all IBS symptoms are IBS. Some are lactose intolerance and can

be handled with taking lactaid before eating your few spoons of

icecream (works WONDERS for dh), and SOME are food allergies. I

thought I was having IBS symptoms, but it turned out I was dairy

allergic (found out when I became a rash from head to toe one morning

after drinking my milk! Sounds more like lactose intolerance than

allergy.. I would try the lactaid pills before jumping on the IBS

bandwagon. Just my 2 cents...from a newbie

I have found the pulse test helpful in identifying food allergies and

sensitivities that can lead to IBS. See Issues 5 & 8 at

google synergyhn short cut

food allergy test.
