Please note that, when responding to this message, I am using a

different email addy right now. My regular one is rejecting my

password for some reason, so I'm actually posting this question from

the web site, but would like responses to come to my hotmail addy, if

you don't mind!

Anyway, my question is when a doctor is dictating the patient's

dilantin level in the labs, do we capitalize dilantin? I know

Dilantin is a trademark name. I haven't been capitalizing it when

the doc dictates it as a lab value.

Thanks!

I would still capitalize it. I don't know for sure. It just seems to me

that whether it's inside or outside the body, it's still the same stuff. If

he'd said he was checking the phenytoin level, I wouldn't capitalize it, but

I would capitalize the Dilantin level. That's just my opinion, though.
