Guest guest
A great solution for me is body oil. I get an almond or apricot oil (Body massage oil, too) and spread it on my arms, legs and feet while they're still wet. Then towel try (does not stain towels). My skin has never been in such good condition including the bottoms of my feet which are daily in AFO's. Have done this for 3 years or so. My thumb nails will do it now and then if I don't keep them short also. Hate that when it happens, catch the nail on everything. E.

My biggest problem is the skin at the end of the nail, but I think I have found a miracle ointment. It's prescription but my sister in law will keep me in samples, if she can't get samples any longer then I will get a prescription. Now if I can find something to make the numbness in the hands go away, I'll have it made. ~~

That's where the split begins, at the end of a ridge. E

My hands feel better now than they have in years. The ointment is not a prescription after all. It's called AQUAPHOR. Sister in law said I might have to ask the pharmacy for it. They sometimes keep things behind their counter that isn't prescription, but it might cost a little more. Take my word for it, it is worth it. <<

Guest guest
I have a lot of problems with my nail cuticles bleeding and becoming painful - more so in the winter. For me, the thing that works the best is to put vaseline or some thick cream/lotion on my hands at night and sleep with cotton gloves on my hands. Also, during the day I use antibiotic ointment (that you can by over the counter - micitratin is one brand but there are also generic brands). They are in a vaseline type base so they help add moisture. When my cuticles are really painful, I'll put a big dab of antibiotic ointment on the worst one(s) and then put a bandaid over it to keep it moist. This seems to speed up the healing a bit. Also, most of the time I use an antibiotic ointment that has a little lidocaine or something to partially numb the pain. That seems to help, also.
