Guest guest
Do you have a reference that I can look up to substantiate the 40% figure? Bladder irritation is very common with guai. And bladder irritation can lead to bladder infection. Do a search at http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/guai-support.html Ora >>Ora wrote: I have been reading about fibro and guai for a few years and >>never found anything regarding 40% of women with fibro having vulvodynia. Guest guest
Ora, I found the stat in these archives: http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/archives/guaigroup.html on Nov. 14, 2003. If you have to join the group before searching, you can join at this web page: http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/newsgroup.htm. Thanks for the info about the bladder irritation. Guest guest
Thanks, Amy. However I went to the archives and could not find it. The archives are listed by subject not date. What is the subject of the post which contains the information. Sorry for the trouble. Ora >Ora, I found the stat in these archives: >http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/archives/guaigroup.html on Nov. 14, 2003. >If you have to join the group before searching, you can join at this >web page: http://www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com/newsgroup.htm. > >Thanks for the info about the bladder irritation. >Amy > > >> Do you have a reference that I can look up to substantiate the 40% >figure? > > > > > > >*****END OF MESSAGE/REMOVE WHEN REPLYING***** >http://groups.yahoo.com/group/VulvarDisorders >to search our archive or view our files. > >***
Guest guest
oooooooh I'm so frustrated with the Guai thing at ''Maelstrom'', LOL. I joined, followed all the instructions and returned the post they sent me, and it just absolutely won't let me do any searching says I'm still not a member, then rejoined again, and same thing.... I did see that huge list of archives and it'd take me a month to read all of those if I did get in *grin* ... perhaps Amy you could just copy and paste those one or two articles that talk about it.? Just frustrated me here , LOL oops never mind. *grin* I see you did mention a date.... Nov. 14, 2003 ...but as I said it won't let me in the archives. *groan* Dee~ PS just for information, I too tried the Guaifenisin at one time but it didn't do anything for me, I just felt really nauseated as I recall but that was a longgggg time ago and I also don't have Fibromyalgia which I understand it has helped some for that. For those who are interested and wonder what it's about you might check out this protocol page for Guai. And thanks Amy for bringing it up, ya just never know what might help someone else. If I remember right didn't Cindi or maybe it was Candy have good luck with that? http://www.guaidoc.com/GuaiProtocol.htm (protocol) http://www.guaidoc.com/Research_Oregon.htm rebuttal (80% improvement stat here too)

Just frustrated me here , LOL > > Dee~ ----------- Dee and Ora, The archives at ''Maelstrom'' are the ones that Ora mentioned. I don't know anything about them. The ones at http://peach.ease.lsoft.com/archives/guaigroup.html do let you search within a time frame, so if you search for vulvodynia where author's address contains fmsnurse in Nov. 2003, you'll find 2 posts on 11/14/03 which give the stats. The first one gives more comments but the alignment is messed up, so please see both posts. The stats are given in tables and the formatting already was having trouble in the original message so might become even more unreadable if I pasted it here. The number I was citing is that " Based on 1883 consecutive patients...40% [of the female patients] have vulvodynia " (again, " patients " refers to Dr. St. Amand's FM patients). Dee, I don't know which group you had trouble joining. If your browser won't accept cookies, you might have trouble. Amy
