Guest guest Posted June 27, 2000 Report Share Posted June 27, 2000 From what I understand, when the head comes out it comes out at an angle -- I have a diagram in a Childbirth magazine here that shows it. The baby's forehead is angled when it comes out so the ENTIRE top of the head isn't emerging at once. Only the rounded curve at the front (or is it the back). The other thing I was told was do NOT take a whirlpool or sit in a swimming pool or even your bathtub at home once your water has broken due to the increase risk of infection. The force of the jets in a whirlpool or swimming pool can force water up into the uterus and cause problems. Check with your doctor but I think they will tell you the same thing Lynn did! Guest guest Posted June 27, 2000 Report Share Posted June 27, 2000 this whole pregnancy thing has me just awestruck....the whole process is amazing and i guess it will continue to amaze me. i guess i have just had too much time to think lately and it is scaring the hell out of me. i am sure i will be fine in the long run. everyone we have been talking to informed us too that no, it doesnt really take a day and a half of labor to have the baby....some longer but of course, alot of them are shorter.women have been doing this for years and have lived through it so i am sure i will do the same. my bags are packed, things are bought, i am ready. i still have 8 weeks to go though....makes me feel better anyway. thanks for answering all my dumb questions but you know, if you dont ask, you cant learn have a good day. julie p.s. i guess i will stick with the epidural. water, epidural, etc I have heard that laboring in water is a big help with the pain. It is so cool Most of my changes are not paiinful, just to be expected or litle annoyances. I am now reading less than t the beginning. I am about to freeze him out of the house. It shocks him more than anything. Last summer (6 months post op VBG) I was sleeping in sweats and a heating blanket on my side of the bed. I was always cold. And now I cannot get cool enough! I am ready for the next 2 months to get here and be done with. lol But overall.... I have loved being pregnant!! This is our first and it has been quite an experience. The changes in your body are just indescribable... wonderful feelings!! Guest guest Posted July 1, 2000 Report Share Posted July 1, 2000 hi i had another ultrasound thurs and the baby is great. he weighs 3 lbs 15 oz which is right on. he is still measuring a little bigger than he is supposed to. they are watching him closer now because, i suppose, this is when i will start falling behind due to nutrition problems. i have to start some weekly testing now but not quite sure what or why but i am sure i will find out. he still wont show anything but the tech was too unfriendly. my mom went along for the first time she is so excited about this baby now. she hasnt been all this time. only 8 weeks....if i start in 3 they wont stop it. i am ready. i cant wait for the next one but this poor old horse needs to rest some first. have a good day. we are just about there!!! julie Re: water, epidural, etc Hey ....
