Guest guest Posted October 15, 1999 Report Share Posted October 15, 1999 hi angie. my home address is 3409 Foxborough Circle St. , MO 63301 and thank you or telling about your talk with your son. i ended up in the emergncy room last nigt. i hate those places but this tim i wa able o com4 home. i hadsch pain i ust wanted to make sure itwas just he rp ( just, just not to miniize it at all ) but th enzymes and other tests seemed to show no heart involvement at his time. of course i was in a lot of pain (i have to be to go to te er. as well a i am sure moasst of you do, i livewith pain evdryday but te last couple o days it has been almostintolerable. ) i calledthe doctor adtld him mysymptoms and he told me to immdiately goto th r just o be safe. he wrot me a script for vicodin es. i explained tothe er doc that i had to sgn a cntract with my pain doctor n0t to get meds rom any other doctor and asked him t call m pain doctor he would not and suggested i just not tell him. well, i calld my pcp today ad tld him of my dilema. they told me t go ahead adge he script flledand they would hav my pcp call my pain doc. well justto be safe i called my pain doc office of course heis not there but they told me to go ahead and get it filled. you wouldnt believe te contract i had to sg with him. has anyone else had t sgn a contract? I mean tey asked for everytingexcept my firsborn son (hah). i had to agree not o get pain meds from ay oter doctor, not to use any oter paharmacy tha the one i signate, notto share, give away sell or throw away any pain meds. , to only getpain meds from im. i haeto go very month the day of or the day beore te meds are to be refilld. te wont refll if it is more than two days before. they wont post date ay meds, tey wont mail tem o m if i have to miss an appointment etc. but i d get em and fr that i am grateful. Guest guest Posted October 15, 1999 Report Share Posted October 15, 1999 - three years ago, in the dark ages I had to sign that ridiculous contract -that is strictly to cover their butts - it is ridiculous and humilating to have to sign that thing - I had to take it my pharmacist to have him sign it and it made me look like the biggest drug addict around. For a few months, I did what you did and really took it seriously - to the detriment of my health at times - like you, doing without because I couldn't follow all of the rules at the time for whatever reason - and guess what? You are an adult - nothing is going to happen if you don't obey the stupid contract - they have it in place just in case they run up against a true druggie who is going from one pain clinic to the next. You will find that if you just go ahead and do what you have to do - they have no way of knowing, nor do you have to be accountable to them! This is an area that makes me WILD!!!! Please go to the website that I mentioned a few days ago for Angie - here it is - all of you that have to have pain meds go to this website right now - print out all of the information and stuff it down anyone's throat who does not have to live with excruiating pain every single day - the stand that these wonderful people advocate is that SO WHAT IF YOU GET ADDICTED??????? THAT CAN BE TREATED ONE DAY IF THAT BECOMES NECESSARY - BUT STUDIES PROVE, PROVE, PROVE THAT CHRONIC PAIN SUFFERES DO NOT GET ADDICTED - THIS IS AS NECESSARY MEDICINE TO LIVE AS YOUR OTHER MEDS - LOOK AT THOSE SIDE EFFECTS!!!!!!!!!!! The difference is that an addict takes pain meds to hide out from life and to not deal with something - a pain patient takes pain medication to resume life and to be able to keep going and not get suicidal.
