Guest guest
, Sara, Kristi and everyone else. Thank you so much for your responses. It is amazing how much support is in this group. Just reading your replies helped me to know that I am not alone. Each one of you has given me different insight and different ways to look at my situation. This has to be one of the most difficult decisions that we've ever had to make. Each month, with the drugs and IUI is costing us, out of pocket(no fert. coverage at all), about $1,100. We haven't decided how many months we would try for, if we do go this route. IVF runs about $15,000 to $18,000. My RE's office seems to be pretty high in their prices but I chose him because he's right downtown Chicago and based on recommendations from others who he has successfully gotten pg. Kristi, I hope that the clomid works for you trying on your own. That is definitely the more natural way, if that even exists anymore. I wish you and your dh the best of luck and lots of love making. I will let you know what we decide to do. I'm guessing that we will try IUI for probally 3 months and then re-evaluate but we are planning on discussing our options more tonight. I'm going to call my RE and discuss why doing IUI is the best option right out of the gate. Maybe he feels that way because of my UU. I am planning on finding out before I decide 100% either way. Thanks for that advice. Sara, Congratulations on your pregnancy. You must've been so excited to find out you got pg on injectibles and IUI versus IVF. We would move onto injectibles if the clomid doesn't work. Atleast that is what my RE said in my last consultation, we'll see as time goes on. I wish that my RE would let my dh give me that Hcg at home and then bring in the sample. The told me that they don't recommend it for quality purposes and that they would prefer they collect in the doctor's office. I'm scarred that he won't be able to produce in the RE's office and that I'll miss this month. That is another worry of mine that makes me not want to do IUI but I can't worry about something that hasn't happened yet. It is comforting to hear that my dh isn't too different from others dh's. They can be a challenge but I'm sure that dealing with me right now is no " walk in the park " . , thanks for you wonderfully uplifting words. You are right, we will get there. It just takes patience, hope and prayer. I just wanted to say " THANK YOU " to each and every one of you and wish you all the best of luck in your journey to get PG. Thanks again and lol.
