You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make em drink.

Do you have a wheelchair? Maybe tell him you need to get out and have

some fresh air more often? He could push you around the neighborhood, it

would add a little more exercise to the walk for him. Or maybe you could

consider getting one of those motorized scooters they advertise on tv if

you think that would be too strenuous on him.

My guess is he won't want to go back to the Y after that pool incident,

if he's thinking the neighbors are looking when he's walking he'll for

sure be wondering all the time if the folks at the Y that were there

when it happened remember him and the incident.

I don't think anyone is looking at him he just thinks they are. I don't know

how much he weighs but if we stop and think we all have something we could be

self consious about. I understand why the water would be best for you and I

would keep it up . It would be great if he could take private swimming lessons

(its never too late to learn). Everyone should teach their children to swim when

they are very small I think. Tell him what does it matter who thinks what

itas his life, Poo on them. Helen

I would suggest trying to find him a male buddy who works out there

who would be willing to meet him. I'm going through similar issues

with hubby as far as being embarassed to go to a fitness club

center. The thing is that it's their man-ness that's frustrated and

we women only seem to be nagging. If they have a male buddy who will

meet them outside and take them around showing them stuff, they feel

their man feelings without being wife-nagged. At least that's how my

hubby is.
