Guest guest
is lanolin sold under a brand and can i get it at the pharmacy or do i have to ask for it special order? i am just soaking up all this advice believe me!!! 2 weeks and they will let me go....ok, getting closer to 1 week. YIKES!!!!! julie The Curse of the Big Boobs I remember very clearly, in the last stages of pgcy, thinking how totally enraged I was going to be if I had difficulty breastfeeding... I mean, how many years had I carried these horrid, humongous things around on the off chance they might get used... thankfully, I had no trouble whatsoever, not even cracked nipples or plugged ducts or mastitis or anything (PTL!!!) (and thank God for lanolin -- if you don't have it, GET IT and use it every time you finish nursing). -Kris ______________________________________________ FREE Personalized Email at Mail.com Sign up at http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get a NextCard Visa, in 30 seconds! 1. Guest guest
You can buy pure lanolin under the brand name Lansinoh, and there is a brand made by Medela too. With my first baby, I complained of sore nipples in the hospital, and my nurse brought me some lanolin to use. Insurance paid for it that way. My second baby was born in a different hospital, and I didn't want to risk being without lanolin, so I bought a big tube of it from Walgreens and brought it with me to the hospital. It is pretty expensive (about $10 a tube I think) but well worth it. I've also seen it at Wal-mart near the breast pumps and bra pads. Make sure you get the hypoallergenic purified kind. Good Luck, Lynn
Guest guest
P.S. If you can't find lanolin locally, you can order it from the LaLeche League catalog. http://www.lalecheleague.org/Web_store/web_store.cgi under accessories. There's also lots of other helpful information about breastfeeding at their site http://www.lalecheleague.org/ Lynn

Guest guest
I ,too have that curse and had GREAT difficulty nursing and ultimately gave up. I also had the same problem with my Pre-op pregnancy. These things were just as huge this pregnancy, however non-pregnant, they look like balloons that have been blown and had the air let out 1 too many times!! donna The Curse of the Big Boobs > I remember very clearly, in the last stages of pgcy, thinking how totally > enraged I was going to be if I had difficulty breastfeeding... Guest guest
Lansinoh is the best!! That is the brand name and you don't have to wash it off to nurse!! donna The Curse of the Big Boobs > > > I remember very clearly, in the last stages of pgcy, thinking how totally > enraged I was going to be if I had difficulty breastfeeding... Guest guest
It's definitely not cheap, but you don't have to use much. I never even used up one whole tube (I bought the Medela brand, I think, but they're all the same... they're usually somewhere on the baby aisle, near the nursing pads and stuff like that). -Kris - Re: The Curse of the Big Boobs You can buy pure lanolin under the brand name Lansinoh, and there is a brand made by Medela too.
