Guest guest
breakfast; fruit and cot cheese, or whole grain bread w/ melted cheese, or whole grain ceral with fruit, or 1-2 eggs w/ toast, or anything else I feel like that is good balance and quantity. sometimes leftovers from dinner. ( i have no stigmas about certain items being good for certain meals) we live in NYC and eat out alot so there's always a doggy bad in the fringe that I can get a few meals from. Usually have 2 breakfasts. from the very beginning of preg I need to add this and have the same kind of choices again mid morn. Lunch is not always quite as healthy. At work most often is doggie bag or order in chinese. FAve is pint of shrimp and brocolli, usually throw away the rice. If feeling very healthy wil have steamed but that is tooo bland. 1 slice bread ham & alpine lace sandwhich. or turkey. 1/3 pound chicken or egg salad with fruit salad or pot salad. salad with meat or fish tossed in. Din is broad, like I say eat out a lot and usually have some kind of fish and veggies. ( I was never a big meat girl but if I were I would have meat) SOmetimes an appy or salad too. Try to get my DH to share with me so I don't have to have a big portion. Still a food addict and want to put what's in front me. Also one area I feel deprived is in variety. SO if I can have a few bites of appy I don't feel this so much. If I want something that has a sauce i ask for it on the side. I try very hard not too over eat which I am not that good at. In fact it is harder since preg coz I do get more ravenous and than have eaten too much before I know it. If we are home i usually some protein adn veggies. , IF noone cooked I like Weight wathcer or lean cusine frozen entrees. I miss living in the burbs and freshly BBQing at home with a nice salad which is healthy and yummy. Snacks sometimes mid aft or aft din. Fave is no sugar, low fat ice cream. fruit. No sugar yogurt. No sugar cookie, some times at work some canned fruit or crackers which we have on hand there. I am hi risk coz of age so doc told me to go low salt and sugar. I think the sugar is a joke coz I dump and already am damn low on this so I have some here and there. I don't add salt to much and cut down on pretzels & chips, again not that I have been eating much. I have bringe urges and sometimes indulge them but try to go for th better choice. I also have not been able totolerate much in the starch area since beginning altho it increase with preg also but I don't eat much is beads, pastas etc, they fill me up tooo fast. If I do I try to keep it towhole grain healthy ones. Hope this helps. It is based on common sense and some knowledge, not really from doc or nutritionist. Oh one more thing. A Lot of docs who are not informed on WLS try too push you to eat tooo much. I strongly believe try to listen to your body. Baby lets you know if s/he wants more. This is very hard if yuo are early post op and havn ot readjusted to your new stomach yet. or still want to binge ( I still do sometimes, comparatively it is tiny, but makes me feel bad physically an emotionally) but please don't force yourself too eat too much too hit certain number of cals. Guest guest
i have actually found that i educate the dieticians more than they help me any. it gets frustrating so i quit going and just do the best that i can on my own. so far, so good. julie Re: Hello, daily diet breakfast; fruit and cot cheese, or whole grain bread w/ melted cheese, or whole grain ceral with fruit, or 1-2 eggs w/ toast, or anything else I feel like that is good balance and quantity. sometimes leftovers from dinner.
