Guest guest
yes I eat cashews. I went on the diet very strictly for those first four month along with the nystatin. Now I do cheat at times..like for work we have banquets..etc. But then if i start to get symptoms again, I immediatly go back to eating only the foods that do not bother me. I never have severe flare ups like I did before I went on the diet and took the nystatin. I was a skeptic before I did this..I remember when I first got VV a friend of mine told me to stop drinking all diet and regular sodas, coffee..and eat chicken breast and veggies. I laughed at him. BOY was he right. Also please take note of other things going on with your body. That also helped make me aware that this was a total body deal for me. I was getting acne, I was irritable, tired, moody, had attacks of anxiety, I had a white coated tongue, I also had rectal itching, one of my toenails had toenail fungus, I would get sore throats ,etc. Well after being on that diet and taking the nystatin..it all went away..My face was totally clear..Last week I was bad and ate a lot of things I shouldnt have..lots of corn syrup (something which gives me symptoms ) and I had 3 new GIANT ZITS and I am 42!!!!! I also cheated this weekend and went out to eat and had fried foods and a piece of cheesecake last night and this morning I woke up itching! SOOOO this week I will stay away from that junk..like a detox. I am going to make beef roast with steamed asparagus for dinner and use Muir Glen Fruit sweetened ketchup instead of Heinz. Heinz has sugar and corn syrup in it! There are tons of books out there at your local health food store that talk about healthy eating..vitamins, etc. They also carry books on candida. I also take an vitamin energy drink powder that I mix with water everyday. Getting omega 3s and folic acid are important as well. Excercise and get plenty of sleep. I was not taking care of myself properly and was under a lot of stress when this all happened.... top that off with a dose of hormones in birth control pills and WHAMO you have..BV infections, then antibotics, then candida, then ultra sensitive skin and food sensitivities!!!! Guest guest
I avoid, yeasty foods, cow's milk, corn syrup, corn products, natural flavors, msg, preservatives, food dyes, wine, beer, rum, cream cheese, sour cream, orange juice, sodas both regular and diet. I do eat some wheat..like French meadow bakery Flax and Sunflower wheat bread, but it is sugar free, yeast free and preservative free. Corn syrup seems to be one of my biggest problems. Guest guest
Hi, I think that your last sentence pretty much summed it all up for me, I am definitely at the stage of skin sensitivities and food intolerances. The million dollar question is can you ever completely get over this. I am feeling so despondent and am embarking on a candida diet today, there seem to be so many but the basics I suppose remain unchanged. Dusty has suggested that I test to see exactaly which type of yeast it is, can this be done in a local pathology lab, (through your GP) does anyone know ?. My medical aid has run out so things are going to be expensive from here on. I drink a lot of diet soda, why is this such a problem, surely artificial sweetener is ok ?. I am having such a flare up bought on by drinking a soya based protein drink and have not recovered from that, hence the diet now. Many thanks Mandy -----Original Message----- From: blueeberri@... Guest guest
So that I'm clear, you are on a gluten free diet only? Or you have other dietary restrictions as well .
