Guest guest
Hi Eunice, Eating out the way we do when we are working Monday thru Friday isn't boring to me. We meet all sorts of interesting people. I work with my husband an couldn't imagine staying home and having enough to keep me busy 7 days a week. We are on the go and do cover quite a few miles, You like to shop and I don't, people are different, that's what makes the world turn. It is wonderful that you can eat fried foods and sweets, me I can't because it isn't good for me. You snack all through the day and I am not where I could if I wanted to, which I don't. I won't mention my eating plan again, I just thought that it might interest people to know that some others that have asked for it have managed to loose weight that they have kept on for years. Enough said. Helen Re: Dr's Hi Helen, Not criticizing your eating plan, but it would not work for me. First thing, I could not eat out every day. Too me, that is very boring. I enjoy my two meals out per week. Second thing, I lost my weight and it has been off for 3 years and I still eat my candy, my cake and my fried foods. I snack throughout the day. I did not have to follow anyone's plan. I did what I knew would work for me. As you said, we are all different and each person has to find the plan that works for them. Guest guest
As a mom with three kids, one of which who only eats about six foods, the other being a baby and still growing in her molars, a six yr old who doesn't understand why if Allie can have only her six foods she should go ahead and eat healthy (she's trying to get slightly overweight on me) and a husband who is following Atkins with great success, I would love to eat out at a buffet every meal! Sounds WONDERFUL!!!! :-) Of course, one day I'll wish I had the challenge to cook for my three girls every night when they are all grown and gone from my nest! :-( Debi > Hi Eunice, Eating out the way we do when we are working Monday thru Friday isn't boring to me. Guest guest
> I believe I could take a very over weight person and if they would follow what I told them to do and I mean follow to the letter, they would become thin. However most people say they try but don't turn down that cake or candy or sit on their duff all day, these people I would have a hard time helping. A friend of mine in Australia who is not diabetic followed what I eat and do and is now nice and trim, she isn't diabetic. The good side of this is that she most likely won't become diabetic if she stays on this plan. the only change I have made is adding the red wine and last night my bg's were 90 and when I woke up this morning they were 90, don't think that has ever happened as long as I have been checking. > I do believe that one thing that has helped me is that I only eat to live and not " live to eat. I could go all day and never miss eating or think about it, I have to remind myself. > Just my nickel's worth, > Helen I feel I have to reply to this sort of prejudice. People gain weight and remain heavy for a variety of reasons. To say that it's because they don't refuse cake or sweets or bad foods is to contribute to the asinine idea that heavy people are constantly eating and eating candy and cakes. And to mention that they need to get off their duffs also contributes to the bigot's views that heavy people are lazy. And to repeat that platitude that heavy people live to eat is discriminatory in its outlook on a person's worth. I am deeply offended at this view -- and angry too. I was overweight all my life. I never ate fried foods, I never ate sweets. I just didn't care for them, no philosophical stance there. I walked for four miles a day, most days before my family inheritance of arthritis kicked in, and was always the one " off their duff " way before my thin friends. I never had a love affair with food nor did I hate it, so eating wasn't more a part of my life then it is to most people. I do get hungry. Eating is something that I do every day and it's as pleasant part of life as much as other things are. Eating was only an important issue to me because fools would remind me constantly that I MUST be overeating because I was overweight. Until I found the diet I'm on now -- where I've lost over a hundred pounds now and am still losing -- I would have listened to your insults and have kept quiet. Because I was overweight and diabetic I took it to mean that I was deserving of such abuse. But now that I found a diet that tells me to eat, that shows me correct portion size, that includes eating some non virtuous foods that permits me to live a real life, and it proves that enjoying living is more important than following one person's theory that a strict regime (that makes you feel miserable and punished) is the only way to lose weight. I am eating well and am eating delicious foods, I can even add chips at night, or sweets if I wanted, just as " regular " people do and still lose weight comfortably and in a healthy manner. And after 20 years as an uncontrolled diabetic, who was insulin resistant -- I'm off insulin totally. Are you, following your regimen -- to the letter? My blood works are always great now and my bloodsugar tests are all normal. No one has to follow anyone's strict regiment. All people need to do is find the diet that works for them -- and that includes taking into consideration their lifestyle, what gives them joy and a way to include what's important to them. But then, I'd never insult anyone and tell them that they need to follow my orders to the letter to lose weight, and if they didn't then they were lazy and a glutton and weak Interesting to see you think your thoughts are worth more than the usual 2 cents. I disagree. Ade
Guest guest
We only eat the lunch out..as we are home for breakfast and supper.. Our children are all grown and have grown children of their own. Usually we eat at a cafeteria and we eat lunch about 2 PM as that is about the time we get a break in the day. Never eat after 8 PM at night. I am retired which is why I work for my husband who is self employed (he will never retire as he feels that he has too much energy for that). We enjoy the togetherness after the rat race, I didn't go to work until my children were grown, had plenty to do at home, now there isn't enough to fill my day.
