Guest guest
Hi there, I just received a prescription for 3mg of LDN nightly from my primary care doctor via my request and the information I provided her. I will have to get it sent from one of the pharmacies on the list as my local Walgreens doesn't seem to have it in such a small dose. Has anyone heard of anyone with Idiopathic Hypersomnia taking it? If you are curious about Idiopathic Hypersomnia there is a group for that too. It is excessive sleepiness without apparent cause (sleep is deep but ultimately unrefreshing leaving us tired and dragging around most of the time). I inherited mine from my father. We've both had limited success with medication, although Provigil helps (it's expensive though and we build an immunity to it very quickly). My friend has had stunning success for several years on LDN for her MS and recommended I try it for my life long fatigue problem. I will keep you posted if you're interested. I'd love to hear from anyone with I.H. or fatigue from other diagnoses (eg. M.S., Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, etc). Good Health, Ann
Guest guest
I have no experience with your affliction but 'sleep is deep but ultimately unrefreshing' sounds much like my sleep since I started taking LDN for hypothyroidism. Overall, my energy is significantly better during the day but I wake up tired and not refreshed every day. I've been a very light sleeper my entire life until LDN. I once woke up to crinkling cracker wrapper from another room through 2 mostly closed doors during the night and was awake and in there before my dog was able to actually ingest anything. Now, my wife tells me I sleep through many things, which is very disturbing to me. I feel sore when I wake like I've been sleeping in one position and not moving for hours. Dreams are vivid and intense, like many people say. It seems I should wake up feeling great but that hasn't been the case so far. I've been taking since Oct. 2005, starting at 2 mg. and quickly up to 3 mg. macdesign_2000 wrote: >Hi there, > >I just received a prescription for 3mg of LDN nightly from my primary >care doctor via my request and the information I provided her. Guest guest
Hi Ann, I have been taking LDN for MS 8 months now, I trialed and have taken Provigil for 10plus years for Narcolepsy. It worked very well but as MS got worse Provigil did not work as well. It appears ldn had worked in tandem with Provigil for me, I no longer get that let down feeling which ultimately meant I'd drop off to sleep. I'm alert, and sleep is deeper and refreshing now. If insurance is not covering your Provigil the Cephalon Co. which makes it has a program to assist those who need and cannot get it. I'm not certain how it works since thankfully my insruance, so far, still covers it, but I'm sure they still have the program available.
