My adventures with Lunesta

I've been on Lunesta (for the most part) since end of August. It's

been working pretty well - seems to help me get to sleep despite the

jerky legs, and when I wake up later, the jerky legs don't come

back. So the quality of my sleep seems to be better.

The problem is that it only seems to hold for about 6 hours. It's

nearly 6 am and I've been awake since 4. I had a very busy and

exhausting day yesterday and went to bed a little after 10 - lights

out by 10:30. I was wide awake at a little past 4 and I'm still

awake. I've got a few aches and pains but fibro pain level seems

low. I felt last night like I was coming down with a cold; my nose

still feels that way. But this isn't the first time this has

happened. It seems to be settling into a fairly regular thing.

Yesterday morning I got back to sleep at about 6 and slept till 8,

then till nearly 11, but this morning I need to go in for some

fasting bloodwork so need to get up at 7 anyway.

The good thing is that apart from a few minor flareups, and a pretty

bad one Monday night, my fibro pain level has been fairly low for a

whole string of days.

My disability company checked in with me yesterday. I told them I

figured it was about time for them to call because I hadn't woken up

screaming from nightmares for about a week now. The person I gave

the update to was different than the person who handles my case. The

guy who handles my case, who leaned on my so hard back in May to go

back to work, called me back and gave me as close to an apology as I

could expect. He assured me that they don't just cut off the

disability without working with me and my doc, and that he understood

that I couldn't go back to work at this point.

I really do want to go back to work. But I don't know of any job

(that I'd want, anyway) that allows you to take naps and lie down

when you need to.
