Guest guest
Hello everyone! I do not remember if i have posted before or not but I have been inspired by everyones words so thank you!!! A short intro. I was dx'd april 2001 with secondary progressive MS, and it has been a really big battle .. I did all the drugs that the doc's pushed my way but nothing worked like they said it would. So i got agressive and did the chemo and it worked.. that was 2 years ago. Ok i went from not walking to walking wich is great but i wanted to keep fighting for a chance at a life. So I tried LDN, 3 mg. I did not have the problems that I have read about getting it.. I printed out the fact sheet went to my regular family Doc (neuro said NO)and asked for it and had the online site of where to send the script ready for him.. I also stopped at the local pharamacy that i go to and had them check out the site for validity. which they happily did. I can not remember the letters that made it approved (for safety and a real pharmacy) but i could always look it up if anyone is interested. But anyway I had my first shipment in 3 days!! So I started on June 18th and felt so much better after the first pill. In fact I felt so much better and stayed that way on June 21st I bought a Harley!! So Cool. Yep I did not want to waste a minute of this new surge of energy and the lack of my normal symptoms. Still going well here which after 5 years of sitting on the couch and not doing anything because of pain, eyesight or fatigue. etc. I feel a little ashamed even asking this question!! But I really thougth that the diet part would be a little easier. I mean come on I got up and am walking and eating less so the weight should be dropping with little effort right>>? NOT.. I am gaining weight and still eating less. Because i am off riding and not around food all day long. Well that is my question. has anyone else gained weight because of LDN? Oh and btw the only part that LDN did not really help in is my brain power!! But heh I do have holes in my brain and years of drug use.. Ok Doc prescribed but still use. So if i miss an answer here anyone is welcome to email me directly and hit me over the head to get my attention!! And thank you to everyone that has written here because of you i was able to a. find LDN and b. Know enough that I wanted to try it! Sincerely Kasey

Guest guest
Many people find that they lose weight once on LDN. Not all but some. Guest guest
YES STARVING KINDA WORKS FOR WEIGHT LOSS BUT SMALL HEALTHY MEALS IS HOW YOU GET YOUR METABOLISM WORKING AGAIN. MY LOVE IS A BODY BUILDER SO HE KNOWS ALL ABOUT NUTRITION AND STUFF. HE'S GOT SOME GREAT EXERCISES TO RELIEVE BACK PAIN TOO. SO EMAIL ME DIRECT OR POST OFF TOPIC OF COURSE AND I'LL PICK HIS BRAIN FOR SPECIFICS. HE LOST HIS BEST FRIEND/COUSIN TO THIS DREADED DISEASE LAST YEAR SO I KNOW HE WON'T MIND HELPING ANYONE HE CAN. I WISH HIS COUSIN WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT LDN. I KNOW THE KID TRIED THE BEE STINGS, THE SNAKE BITES, PLASMA EXCHANGE AND ALL THAT OTHER FUN STUFF. HI NANCY! BEST WISHES TO ALL OF YOU DONNA
Guest guest
The hypothyroid issue is very possible. A standard TSH is so broad that it really doesn't tell much. The ratio of T3 to T4 should be checked, but if your doc is unfamiliar with this he/she may dismiss it. A thyroid supplement from a health food store would probably be good. You can check your temp before you get out of bed, and if it's low, that's a pretty good indication that the thyroid is sluggish.
