I've forgotten occasionally and have taken it after 2 am, I wonder if it does any good at all.

Re: [low dose naltrexone] LDN - take with food?

at the conference dr gluck was adamant about that you take it during the specified hours. apparently the body doesn't know if your not sleeping.

I know it says to take your dose between 9PM and 2 AM, but why? It must be that you should be in "shut-down mode" and ready for sleep. If you are supposed to take it at that time and you work the night shift then your circadian rhythm is different and I would think it would not work the same. It must have something to do with a person sleeping so it can work during that time.

I have on occasion missed mine by 1, and have gone ahead and taken

it anyway, sometimes more around 2 or 2:30 am. I wonder if it does

anything at all, or if it could have a more negative effect.

No, LDN must be in your system during the hours of 2am-4am when

endorphins produce the most. Sleep has nothing to do with the way LDN

works. If LDN is taken before 9pm then it's already out of your

system before 2am and if taken later than 3am it may not work at full

capacity during the 2am-4am mark.

If its taken at 3, then wouldnt it have already missed half of the 2-

4 mark, IE 2-3, are you saying that anytime before 3 has a chance of

hitting the latter half of the 2-4 mark, IE 3-4, or more accurately,

say, 3:20, or possibly 3:30 to 4 mark. Just how close are we talking

about?

Well, originally this thread dealt with taking LDN with food, but it

grew into what times to take LDN. Sometimes I forget to take my LDN,

I'm wondering if I should not even bother to take it at all past a

certain time , or should I just take it anyway. Some meds say to

resume as normal the next dosing period, some say to take the dose

when you remember, and continue as normal the next time. If it's

definitively pointless to take it past a certain time, I wouldnt waste

it.

I noticed the two names too, it depends on if I answer a post

through my email, or if I answer it through the forum.

I don't know of ANY cylces in our bodies that turn on and off like a

light switch. Our cycles gradually rise to a peak, then gradually

subside. How long the rise takes, how long the peaks last, and how

long the decline takes has 'normals'. However, these cycles could

fluctuate slightly with individuals (just like our preferred

dosages). Surely, the production of endorphins is no different. If I

forgot to take my LDN during the specified time, whether or not I

would take later would depend 'on how much' later. 2:00 or 2:30, I

definitely would still take mine. As far as a negative effect,

nothing that I have ever heard would suggest that. After all, the

original drug blocked all day and night and still there were no bad

effects reported. Taking LDN 'late' probably would keep us from

getting as much of a benefit or none at all.

Hello from the road. I haven't been home since 6/30, been camping,

thanks to LDN. Am at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival.. took a trip

to the Library on the way to get some ice for our group, and the

Library has good A/C so here I am LOL

LDN is supposed to be taken between 9pm and 3am... I say 10pm-3am

during daylight savings, but that's JMHO. Others say before 2am...

whatever works so you get it in there.

I almost always take it after midnight and usually before 2am.

Whether I'm working the night shift (12-8a) or am on vacation, as now.

I see the subject is about food though.. haven't been getting the

emails and not sure the question but I've taken it empty stomach,

after eating, etc.. never noticed any difference(s) to speak of.. as

long as it's consistently between 9p and 3a. :)

I'll be back next week but not sure if anyone will still be here?

wow... " why can't we all just get along? "
