Guest guest
Hello to all, I came across an article in Reader's Digest that I thought might be helpful to some members of the group that are having a hard time w/their insurance. I will post some of the article for those intrerested. " But was denied coverage by his insurance comapny. He appealed, and his doctor also intervened-with no success. Then contacted the Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF), a nonprofit group in Newport News, Va., whose mission is helping patients face health crises. The staff pressured the insurer, and the treatment was approved after a few days. The PAF is funded by private donors, university medical centers, cancer groups and drug companies. It has a staff of full-time case workers, and a state by state network of resources. Insurance problems-from the denial of care to refusla to pay after care has been given-make up about 80 percent of its cases. Patients can contact PAF at its website: patientadvocate.org, or by telephone: . " The article dealt w/a cancer patient but maybe someone can find this beneficial; maybe this group helps all kinds of insurance problems. I hope someone is able to utilize this, and I hope someone can benefit from this information..........
