Your recommendation of Dr. Rosner

I see that you have recommended Dr. Rosner. I was told at Parkridge

Hospital (by a colleage of his after I completed my tilt table test) that Dr.

Rosner's patients are getting up and leaving in 36 hours after surgery merely

rubbing the backs of their heads but otherwise doing great. This other doctor

said that Dr. Rosner is modest when he claims 85% success for ACMI surgery in

general and that his rate there at that hospital is actually more like 99%.

What is your take on this success rate?

Can you tell me about your experience with Chiari surgery by Dr. Rosner or

point me to where you have told it already? I was diagnosed with Chiari I about

3 weeks ago by Dr. Rosner. He had to order another MRI because the one Park

Ridge took a year ago did not follow the appropriate protocol but he could tell

from the old that I had compression and herniation. I have been reading what

everyone has been writing for the last few days and I appreciate all the facts I

have gleaned.

39 yrs

Chiari w/symptoms of Fibromyalgia and TMJ

Although I haven't seen Dr Rosner, I hear he is good. However, I find it hard to

believe that his (or anyone else's) success rate

is as high as 99%. If docs would follow up for several years, the 99% success

rate (or anything near that) would probably decrease

somewhat.

In any case, I would be very interested in seeing what Rosner's MRI protocol

images look like and if they differ from other

specialists, such as Frim's, Milhorat's, Heffez's, etc. Does anyone have scanned

MRI pics showing Chiari according to Rosner's

protocol?

Thanks ... Eurico
