Guest guest
I can add my wife's experience, if it helps. She was officially diagnosed at age 28. 5 years before, while vacationing, she had severe headaches. She had problems with headaches since her early teens years, but she says these were much worse and sudden. She was near a family friend, a neurologist, in Alabama and went to him. An MRI showed what he called 'a small spot which might be something but is probably nothing'. The severe headaches continued from that time on for and they were the kind of pain that she now recognizes as an " MS headache " as she calls them, different from a migraine, stress, sinus or PMS headache. So... it seems 's MS started 5 years before her first major exacerbation as one small lesion on an MRI and headaches. >>>Does anyone know if it is possible to discover when anyones MS began? >>>Is there some way to accurately calculate it's onset. Knowing this >>>would answer many questions for me. Never having returned to the Neuro >>>who diagnosed my MS, (he would not hear of any alternative treatments, >>>CRAB meds only), I did not have the opportunity to ask many questions. >>>Thanks. >>> >>>Gigi >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> >>Thank you all for your answers. Etiology is further blurred when >> >> >there are other pre-existing conditions, as in my case Narcolepsy, >etc. I thought perhaps I'd overlooked some information regarding >time-line markers to discover onset, as one might note with heart >damage from scar tissue. Back to the drawing board.....thanks again. > >Gigi > > > > > > > >

The neuro-opthamologist said " You have one of the 1st symptoms of MS. Have a MRI right now. That was my 1st symtomthat I even have MS. I was 28.After the solumedrol for 3 days I had no other symtoms for years...about 8 yrs. I too have been thinking back...where did this come from? The only thing that is suspicious is a cold that I had...my brother too was affected. My mother had to call our doctor because we could not walk. He said the cold must have settled in our legs.I remember crawling to the bathroom, telling kids at school that I couldn't walk.I think I was 7-8. I asked the dr office for a copy of any info from the incedent and they are gone. Can you believe my peditrician is still practicing. Be well everybody How low will we go?
