Guest guest
Is there a noticeable difference between almond flour that you order already made and almond flour that you grind up at home in terms of how baked items turn out. I am fairly new and so I haven't ordered any flour yet (only make my own)and it seems like things are very fragile. Also, I have an aquired egg allergy so that probably doesn't help, but I am wanting to make something more filling for my tummy (replace starch) especially in the morning. Thanks for any suggestions Darcy uc 12yrs, scd 3weeks
Guest guest
Darcy, Here in Toronto we are fortunate to have several good retail sources of almond flour which should be blanched and finely ground. Online some good sources are: http://www.lucyskitchenshop.com/ www.digestivewellness.com http://www.jkgourmet.com/ Several other list members have mentioned other good sources here as well. I do not recommend Bob's Red Mill Almond Flour (it's a personal thing. I think it has traces of gluten). Making it at home in a Cuisinart has yields good results for me too. You may be able to make a pancake with nut flour and honey using apple or pear sauce in place of the eggs.
