Guest guest
Hi , I was taking Zoloft last time I got pregnant. Once I found out I was pregnant, I stopped taking the Zoloft, and was able to go through my pregnancy without any medication. My Psych. said it is common for chronically depressed women like myself to have a remission during their pregnancy. This happened to me both times I was pregnant. Unfortunately, right after delivery, the depression came back full-force and I had to go back on the medication. My Psych. also said that with her patients who have to take Zoloft throughout their pregnancies, the only thing she worries about is the final few weeks. During that time, she tries to wean the patient off of the Zoloft to reduce the small chance of breathing problems in the newborn. I guess if the baby is born with the medication still in his blood stream, he is more likely to have breathing trouble at first. I understand your worries, as I was worried too. I hope this helps reassure you a little. Lynn
