Dear Kay

I wouldn’t know if I have it in my

whole system, I think that I only have it Vaginally though as this is where my

main discomfort is. I have to get

my mind around the elimination diet and plan on starting it in about 2 weeks

time after the holidays, there is no way I can start now as it will just be far

too difficult.

I wanted to go to the gyn so that

she could take a smear and tell me under the microscope that I have Candida but

its soo expensive and I know that I do have it, my homeopath has tested me and

that for me is proof enough that I have this dreaded thing. I just crave sweets and sweet biscuits

so much that its going to be really difficult to stay away, but I will somehow

manage. If you swallow whole bits

of garlic does the smell come through your skin (yuk !!!!) ;0), I have heard

that Giant garlic is almost odourless and works just as well, not sure if its

readily available though ? I

bought some tea tree oil and will be using it in my bath tonight, I have used

it in the past but haven’t found it to be too helpful, but will definitely give

it a try again.

Cheers

Mandy

hi mandy,

do you have

candida in your whole system or just oral thrush or

vaginal thrush?

just that i once had what we thought was oral thrush

and it turned

out it wasn't. i only found out when i insisted on a

swab being

taken. on the other hand i only discovered i had thrush in

my 'natal

cleft " (bum to me and you ;-)) when i once again insisted

on being tested.

your homeopath

may well be right; it does take time to eradicate it

from your

system. i have heard that drinking aloe vera juice is

beneficial as is

garlic. i have a cold at the moment and i chop fresh

garlic into

managable pieces and swallow them like pills, but garlic

is also an

anti-fungal. have you tried using tea tree oil in your

bath? i started

with one drop and built up to 3 or 4.

the other thing

to try is Diflucan 50mg every day for a few weeks. i

can't remember

offhand exactly how long you take it for, but i recall

3-4 weeks. i

think you can even stay on it longer, but you would need

to check this

out.

good luck!

Mandy, get a confirmed diagnosis from cultures so as to identify the type of candida you have (if any). Some types do not respond to Diflucan adn it would not be wise to be taking the drug if you have a type yeast that won't be healed from it. It may be expensive, but to really get on the path of healing - you need to identify the species of yeast that you have.
