Guest guest
Hi My Sweety Tweety, How are you doing? I'm having a lot of trouble using the computer, but wanted to update you. I'm not really sure where I left off, but I have learned a lot since I e-mailed you the last time. Mom told me that I was in the hospital in Aug. because of my staph infection. They were trying to put a pick line for my IVs. They accidentally punctured my left lung. They had to put in a drain tube from that lung and get it to re inflate. They couldn't get me awake after this was done. A few days later I woke up, but I couldn't talk. Finally I began talking. My entire family came to be with me. I had no idea I was so close to dying. I was in the hospital for 12 days. I don't remember any of this. I was in the hospital for 26 days of Sept. and Oct. I spent most of this time in critical care. I had my shunt taken out in Sept. I remember most of that. I had a few rounds of grand mal seizures during Aug. and Sept. (My neurologist thinks it's from all the trauma.) When I came home, I had to have IVs every 6 hours. I have had whelps from head to toe from the antibiotics, but it is something that I've had to live with to get the staph infection under control. had to take emergency leave from work so he could do the IVs every 6 hours. I had a home health care nurse during this time. I have had a very good infectious disease doctor ever since. I got to stop my IVs 2 days ago. I had learned to do the IVs by myself. was hospitalized with pneumonia during this time. He was able to go back to work yesterday. I know I've left out a lot, but I can't remember some of it. My memory is getting better though. If it's not too much to ask, would you please post to the group a little of what has been going on with me? I will be back with the group when I'm feeling better. It's going to take some time. I would love to hear from any of the group, but I can't answer most of them at this time. I've already gotten a lot of e-mails from them and I really appreciate their concerns and prayers. has been asking about me and I plan on answering her.
