Guest guest
Hi. My name is Tracey, and my 9 year old son was just diagnosed last week by MRI. We had the MRI done due to severe headaches which worsen when he coughs. (Which he cougs almost continually the last two weeks). I thought his asthma was acting up but, now I am not so sure. He is not weezing at all, and the doctor says his lungs sound clear. Still, he continues to cough with no other cold or flu symptom. Anyways, they say he is at 10mm herniation.we are scheduled to see his neurologist at all childrens in a week and a half. The same one we used to see for his seizures. What I am wondering is if they automatically do surgery? I am terrified of them doing that but, also after reading and reading and reading on the net I am terrified if they dont do it because I hear if he got hit in the head he could die. His main problem is that he has headaches almost daily. He also has bad pains in his legs (sometimes to the point where he refuses to walk because he says it hurts). He throws up ALOT, but I was told it was due to reflux and he is on medicine for that. Another question I have is do these things grow? He has had headaches for as far back as I can remember, but, only in the last month or so have they gotten severe. And only in the last few weeks has he had them daily or near daily. Anyway, if anyone could help me out I would be greatful. Thanks, Tracey
