Guest guest
Hello: My name is . I am trying to get information on the school system three areas and I dont know if they are the same area or how this works. I would like to find a school for my son who is 11 in 6th grade and Autistic. He is in a program now that is in a regular public school. He is in the program with no more than 10 kids and he has his own one on one aide. He mainstreams into the inclusion class for music, art, computers, and gym to help as well with social skills. He receives speech, ot and ABA. I would like to find a program that models this one. Do you know of any certain area where they have something like this. My son is very verbal, his words might not always come out in the right order but he usually does pretty good. He understands what he needs to do, he helps him self, he is pleaseant, sweet, and behavioraly higher functioning, just not academically higher functioning. He is in a 12 month program. Goes to summer school where he goes for a couple of weeks in the summer. Its for maintenance and social. Do I have to look into a private school a charter school or can I get a good program from a regular district in the following areas. Can anyone help me with their experiences. The areas that I would move to would be in the South, like Palm Beach, Boynton, Del Rey, Coral Springs, West Palm Beach, within those areas. I appreciate any feed back from anyone who knows best and can help me find a good area to live in so that my son can have a chance at a good school or program.
