Guest guest
Karla Don't give up yet. I know it is hard (and expensive!) to have to check out doctors but there will be one out there who understands. When I started complaining about back pain , all that was done was to MRI me and tell me I had deterioration of my spinal discs. Finally my internist sent me to a neurosurgeon who refused to do surgery on me as he said I had too much pain all over and surgery would help only one problem. When my Ob/Gyn saw me he sent me to an orthopedic back surgeon and I got the same answer. The orthopedist sent me for P.T. and the therapist was downright cruel and kept saying that I was refusing to do the exercises. On my fourth and last visit to him I brought my daughter who is a Dr and he told her that I refused to do the exercises. She told me not to keep going to him as it was obvious that he didn't want to work with me. He just wanted to work with the young adults who had broken legs or some type of surgery. Meanwhile my internist had sent me to a pain specialist who insisted on three injections in my spine which didn't help at all and then he gave up. I went to another pain specialist and he insisted on one injection in my spine which didn't help any, but-t-t he sent me to a third pain specialist who was willing to try medications. We are still trying but things are getting better. Incidentally, the third Dr was the one who diagnosed the fibromyalgia. There is help out there.
