Hi Pam - welcome to the group! I have been a member for over a month now and I

love it here! I can't wait to have the surgery myself. How was it for you? A

lot of pain? Any complications? Did they have you do a liquid diet beforehand?

Hi

My doctor 5 years ago told me that I have fibro and there is no cure

for it. I had it longer than that I am tired of hurting all the time.

It seams like fibro has took over my life. I stop going to college

last week because of IBS. I only told a few people about it. I told my

sister she wanted to know more about it, it was hard to tell her

something I hardly know about. I put myself on a liquid diet to help

slow down on IBS.

Welcome Ann. Wow. Alot is going on in your life. How difficult to have all

the problems with these kids. I sure understand kicking the one out with the

drug problem. And also realize that if your husband makes you happy, you are

entitled to that. I think it is wonderful that you found someone with that kind

of love between you.

And the doctors.... their are alot of them like that. Many still believe we

are crazy. Keep looking for one. Don't give up because fibro is slowly being

recognized as a real illness and it HURTS.

Take care,

Debra V.

I am a new member and I hoping that I can connect with some one who

has the same or some of my symptoms that I have. I am 48 years old , in a new

marriage 2 and 1/2 years and I have never been happier. On my side of the

children , I haven't talked to my son in almost one year. he didn't agree with

who I married. or maybe the fact that I got married in the first place. My

daughter has two children and I don't hear from her unless she needs a baby

siter. She works and is the main person who take care of the children.. Her

husband is a good father bt doesn't help very much that I can see. I the only

time I see her is when my husband and I go over to their house or when I call he

.. I know she is busy but I think she could call and check on me some times. She

married a man who is just like her dad except that fact that her husband doesn't

beat her like her dad did me. But other wise they spend most of their time at

her in-laws house. Then there is

the step children, One I don't talk to at all we have a order of protection

against him, he was living with us and we found out he was doing drugs and

kicked him out. We didn't kick his girlfriend or his baby out just him, but she

choose to leave anyway. Long story short they broke up and he convinced us that

he changed and moved back in with a girl that he was going to marry. Again we

found he was doing drugs and asked him to leave. He left for the night and her

with him, the next day I called a meting between his dad and him to work things

out but it didn't go well, he threatened to kill us and we ended up putting an

order of protection against him. we try very hard to keep in contact with him

but every time we try he takes his time but ends up taking advantage of us. Then

there is his oldest daughter. I love all of these children but this one who is

unappreciative. Her and her boyfriend wanted to buy this house they didn't have

the money to

pay the down payment so we pay it. With in 8 months she decided to leave the

house and him. When we talked to him about the house he aid that he wanted the

house, he said that he would keep up the payments, and with in a year he would

get his credit rating fixed so he could qualify for the loan in his own name.

Well that didn't happen, he called in Feb and was gone in March not paying any

of the bills. So for 30,000 we kept up both houses and repaired all of the stuff

that needed repairing. He wouldn't give us he key to the house, the mail box or

the garage door opener. We also replaced the carpet and blinds. We tried to move

in to that house and sell the house we were in but there were no takes and we

dropped the selling price 12 thousand dollars lower than the appraisal.

In the mean time we found out that I have 5 herniated discs in my back and

fibomyalgia. Then the siezers started about the same time we acquired the second

house. We got a little smarter this time we had her sign a agreement that in 60

days she will start paying rent or move out. The dr. has me on all of these pain

meds because all of you know how pain full this disease is, so my step son when

he get mad at me calls me a drug addict. Truthfully sometimes I do feel like

one.

So as you can tell there is a lot of stress in my life the only steady thing I

have is my love of my life. He is the best thing that god has blessed me with in

the last 5 years. I am not trying to get symphony, I am trying to get some

answers. I was looking at the infomation on the web site and I have all 18 areas

of pain plus the pain in my back.

I now walk with a walker just to ensure that I don't fall. I don't drive, I

could take it if I had a siezers and killed someone, so it is my choice not to

drive but it is also very confining. I sit most of the time and watch tv unless

my man is home and then he does everthing he can to clean the house, cook and

take me where I need to go. the problem with that is his shift changes every two

weeks. days nights and two weeks of anything, days and nights. We have three

dogs and I can't say that they couldn't be any better for me. They are the one's

that make me get up and do things for them or I would just stay in bed until I

needed to shower or get something to drink ect.

So there is my story I am sure that I left alot out but for the most part you

all get the drift. Is there anyone out there who can give me some suggstions

that I haven't already tried. my pain is about an 8 most of the time I have been

to a total of 15 dr's and yest most of them say that it is all in my head. I

know that it is not, it is real and I am going to prove to these SOB's that it

is and there is someting out there that helps.

Thanks for listenting and have a great

weekend.....................................Ann
