Hi Everyone,

I am almost 7 weeks pregnant with my first child and yesterday I went

for a scan to reassure me that everything was OK with the pregnancy

as I had a tiny bit of brown discharge on Thursday evening.

The scan was great - we saw that the baby was in the right place and

there was a little heart flashing away! The radiographer mentioned

that I had a bicornate uterus and that the baby is in the left hand

side and that I have a slight 'reaction' on the right hand side which

is where the old blood had come from. The actual notes from the scan

are as follows:

" single gestation sac. Fetal pole, heart palpations, yolk sac all

visualised. CRL = 7.3 mm = 6 1/2 - 7 weeks. The uterus is bicornate

at the fundus with gestation sac in left horn and a decidual reaction

in right side = 20 x 13 x 9 mm. "

The radiographer didn't mention anything other than the fact that I

had one. When I asked if it was a problem she said 'no, if you had

waited until later for a scan, it probably wouldn't even have been

noticed'. So I merrily went away thinking that all was great.

This morning I started to look on the internet for some information

about the condition and what I started to read was very frightening.

I posted a message on a different forum and was given the details of

this group to join.

So, here I am! I am basically hoping that I can gain some more

insight into this condition and hope that the people in this group

will be able to answer all my questions.

I hope to *speak* to you all soon.

Thanks

Nikki xxx
