Guest guest
Just to tell you in case I haven't..... was born at 32 weeks weighing 1.14 lbs. and 12 inches long. The ob/gyn was suspicious that something was wrong at 12 weeks of pregnancy and especially when my AFP test at 20 weeks came back slightly " abnormal " . At that point, I was referred to a Perineonatologist and was on bedrest from then to the point of delivery. I had high resolution ultra sounds twice a week from 20 weeks gestation to delivery, as well as, steriod shots twice a week (yuck!) They didn't know why was so small, but knew that he wasn't growing. They were totally concerned and decided to take at 32 weeks because they felt they could help him better outside of me rather than inside of me. Luckily, I was at a GREAT hospital and they had a genetists already visiting another baby when he took one look at at 1 month of age and said, " He looks like an RSS baby " ! was officially diagnosed at 4 months of age by the genetists at Children's Hospital. We were VERY lucky in the quick diagnosis and also for doctors in my area knowing what RSS is! Well, just thought I'd throw my experience out there to you! Take care, Stacie & 's Mommy
